Mozambique
Duration: 12-16 days
Mozambique bordered in the north by Tanzania; in the east by the Mozambique Channel on the warm Indian Ocean; the south and south-west by South Africa and Swaziland and the west by Zimbabwe, Zambia and Malawi, has a lot to offer for the tourist. A seafood lover’s paradise where the warm water, beautiful coral reefs with snorkeling, scuba, jetski and fishing excursions will keep you busy – certainly an interesting destination. It also offers driving challenges which include heavy sand and beach driving to exotic tropical destinations along the coast.
Entering Mozambique through the Kruger National Park guarantees an excellent start to a great trip – from the bush to the coast. Highlights include – a boat trip to an island in the Bazaruto Archipelago and spending a day on a beach free to snorkel the reef or wander the beaches; some great beach driving (permitted), visiting the local markets in Vilanculos; driving through beautiful coastal dune forests which give way to mangrove swamps and winding your way down to glorious isolated spots.
Moz is a scenically beautiful country and well worth a visit! The beer is cold and refreshing and the prawns delicious, plentiful and fresh!
